Being a specialist in acoustic and thermal insulation requires extensive experience, technical know-how, and continuous innovation.

In an era where comfort and well-being — both in private and public spaces — are increasingly important, this featured client is at the forefront, gaining national recognition in Italy for producing high-quality sound-absorbing and thermal insulation panels. Its success is driven by ongoing research into low-impact recycled materials and significant investments in cutting-edge production technologies.

Attention to detail, innovation, and environmental sustainability are the cornerstones that have enabled the company to strengthen its leadership and deliver high-performance, reliable insulation solutions that meet their clients’ needs.

The challenge

Our client’s main objective over the next few years is to reduce production waste by implementing solutions that optimize processes and identify potential defects in materials or semi-finished products, specifically EPDM sheets used in manufacturing technical gaskets, in the early stages of production.

The goal is to minimize producing defective products, which would otherwise result in costly economic losses.

The project

The system, a dimensional control bench for measuring EPDM sheets, is designed to scan the top surface of the synthetic rubber panel — which is often uneven and has depressions — and accurately determine its minimum height during the cutting phase to achieve a uniform surface and minimize material waste.

Our solution

We designed and supplied a customized solution, including:

  • A suction table for storing the sheets
  • Laser profilometers for 3D measurement of each sheet’s height, width, and depth
  • A processing system for analyzing the optimal parallelepiped shape, minimizing material waste for cutting in subsequent processes
  • An operator workstation with our Industry 4.0 totem for viewing and processing the cutting process parameters
  • Sheet labeling system
