We are a trusted partner for companies aiming to manage their atmospheric emissions efficiently and in full compliance with regulations. Our systems monitor flue gases from industrial boilers, offering precise, reliable solutions that can be perfectly integrated with existing installations.

With clients in the Food & Beverage sector ranging from producers of sauces and condiments to oil mills, to confectionery industries and pasta factories, dairies and breweries, we understand the specific needs of these facilities, and provide them with tailored systems that combine regulatory compliance, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Production processes in the food industry require large amounts of energy, created by industrial boilers which produce the steam and hot water that are essential for many operational stages: from cooking to sterilization, from plant washing to product packaging. However, boilers are also one of the main sources of atmospheric emissions, making continuous and accurate monitoring of emission parameters essential.

From chimney to cloud: how our boiler emissions monitoring system works

AMEC is our emissions analyzer for boilers and allows clients to continuously monitor gases generated by combustion processes utilizing an extractive system.

The system’s key element is its integrated software, which acquires, validates, and processes data according to ARPA regulations. The collected information can be viewed in real-time or as historical data on the instrument’s display, ensuring constant emissions control.

Our solution is suitable for new installations as well as existing plants and ensures full compliance with major regulations described in Legislative Decree 152/2006 of the Environmental Consolidated Act (TUA) and its subsequent amendments, Legislative Decree 128/2010 and Legislative Decree 183/2017.

Technology and operation

AMEC extracts a flue gas sample from the chimney, dehumidifies it, and analyzes it using electrochemical cells with integrated AI technology that is capable of self-calibrating and intelligently monitoring the end of their useful life.

The system is modular and can be configured for up to 6 chimneys, guaranteeing independent monitoring for each emission point.

The analyzed parameters include both direct gas measurements — such as wet oxygen (O2U), dry oxygen (O2), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and differential pressure (ΔP) — and calculated values, including combustion efficiency (η), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx), steam content, velocity (V), and flow rate (Q). This ensures a complete and accurate overview of emissions produced by the combustion process.

The system performs up to 12 samples per minute, calculating hourly, daily, rolling, and annual averages. The data collected is archived for up to 5 years, in line with the requirements of the relevant authorities.

Upon request, we can provide QAL1-compliant systems.

Access anywhere thanks to AWS Cloud

To support the combustion analyzer, we developed AMEC Cloud, a platform that allows us to manage and view all collected information simply and securely, through dashboards accessible from any device.

Its main features include:

  • Geolocation of systems installed at different sites
  • Real-time monitoring with plant status, parameters, and alarms
  • Charts of hourly, daily, and monthly averages with customizable filters
  • Data logs in tabular format with selectable time periods
  • Official daily, monthly, and annual reports for regulatory inspections
  • Automatic email notifications when predefined limits are exceeded
  • Historical charts to analyze parameter trends over time
